Today there are two jumps meetings at Ffos Las and Sandown but the stable does not have any runners.  There are no flat meetings today but in Ireland they race over jumps at Naas and they have some good races to watch.  The Barberstown Castle chase over 2 miles is at 2.00pm  and Willie Mullins trains four of the eight runners.  Saint Roi, Dusart Dynamo, Sir Gerhard and Dinoblue make up his quartet but red hot trainer Gordon Elliott has Fil Dor as his sole representative.  There is also a good card at Auteuil this afternoon with Graded action at 12.20pm and 1.35pm our time.  While there is no British or Irish representatives they could be an interesting watch.

Make Me A Believer Winner At Exeter

It was great to win the lucky last at Exeter yesterday with Make Me a Believer winning for the first time over fences with Jack Tudor on board.  Our eight year old was only having his eighth career start under rules having had some top class novice hurdle form before injury kept him out of action for nearly two years.  He returned to run okay in three chases last season but we never really had a smooth run of things with him behind the scenes.  Since coming in from his summer holiday this time around however, things have gone as planned following a wind op and I was so delighted to see him return to some top form yesterday.

Only Fools runs at Exeter Today

Today we have three runners at Exeter on their biggest day of the year, Haldon Gold Cup day. Our trio of runners is made up of Mollie De Mai, Only Fools and Make Me A Believer.  Mollie De Mai runs in the 1.45pm novices hurdle over two miles and Jack Tudor rides.  She still has a lot to learn so we are just hoping she takes a step forward from her hurdling debut at Wincanton last time.  She found it all bit much in the heavy going last time but has come out of that well and would have learnt a fair bit from that initial experience.  She is a big price and as long as we see a little improvement we will be happy.

Neon Moon - One of Four Stable Runners Today

Today we have four runners across two jumps meetings at Ludlow and Newbury.  Stray Bullet runs at Ludlow while our trio of runners at Newbury are Neon Moon, Only The Bold and Eden Du Houx.  Stray Bullet runs in the second race on the card, the juvenile hurdle at 12.50pm and David Noonan rides.  We are just hoping he can take another step forward from his last run at Wincanton.  After nearly falling at the first on debut at Chepstow and having a nasty experience he had a confidence boosting outing at Wincanton last time and completed.  He didn’t enjoy the heavy ground that day and will prefer today’s better conditions so hopefully he can take another step forward this afternoon.

     Pachacuti Debuts Over Fences Today

Today we have two runners at two meetings, providing Chepstow passes it’s 7.30am inspection, which it has!  Pachacuti makes his chasing debut in the 1.50pm novices handicap chase with Jack Tudor in the saddle.  He is a lovely big chasing type and we have always been looking forward to seeing him over the larger obstacles.  He was due to debut over fences at Lingfield last week but that meeting was abandoned due to Storm Ciaran so it is good to get him out this afternoon.  It will be his first try at three miles but he is bred to stay and I think this step up in distance combined with fences will be the making of him.  He is a horse that has always gone very well at home but I am not sure we have seen him at his best on the racecourse yet.

Today we have two runners at Warwick, Kauto Kawai and Manuelito who run in the opening contest at Warwick the 12.12pm juvenile hurdle.  Kauto Kawai is having is second start since arriving from France and Tom Bellamy rides while Marrakushi is making his hurdling debut with Jack Tudor in the saddle.  Kauto Kawai finished second on hurdling debut in France but was a little disappointing for us first time out over hurdles at Kempton last time.  He raced a little keenly and made the running that day so we have added the hood this afternoon and I imagine we will have more patient tactics and hope he is staying on towards the finish.
