Decimus Racing is delighted to be offering for sale one-tenth shares in the above three year old gelding. He’s currently being broken in, after which he’ll be moving to David’s powerful stable.

He was bought privately in Ireland prior to the Land Rover Sales, for which he was entered. The plan for him for this season is to bring him along gently with the objective of running in a bumper in the Spring. However, he is very much a horse for the future and we expect him to come to his own when he runs in three mile chases.

He’s a beautifully bred and very well put together individual by Kapgarde, who is the sire of a number of top class performers, including Clan des Obeaux , A Plus Tard, Mr Thriller (also trained by David Pipe), Dolos , Fakir D’Oudairies and Edgardo Sol.

His half-brother, Square Beaujon, had winnings of €222K and was rated 149. Other half-brothers by a lesser sire won and were placed in France.

His dam won four races in Germany and was placed eight times.

The second dam produced seven winners, including the top class German performers Belcone and Beatrice. As you can see, the family is steeped in winners!

He has already been loose schooled in Ireland and jumps very well. He arrived in England in August. He’ll spend his initial period being broken, ridden and educated on the gallops after which he’ll move to Pond House.

A payment of £6750 secures a tenth share in him, with all costs being covered by a monthly fee of £190 from 1 October.

David says of him ‘He has a perfect conformation with a high class pedigree and could go the very top.’

                   Do Ya Feel Lucky (IRE)

Do Ya Feel Lucky (IRE)
2014 Bay Mare
By: Aizavoski (IRE)
Out of: Carthanoora (IRE)
By: Topanoora (IRE)

I have just purchased this gorgeous mare Do Ya Feel Lucky from Ireland.  She is by emerging sire Aizavoski (who is the sire of multiple winners Chapmashype and Bbold) out of Topanoora mare Carhanoora, which makes her a half-sister to Milliner who was runner-up in a 3m Listed hurdle.

Do Ya Feel Lucky was the winner of a 2m maiden hurdle at Tramore on good ground last summer, which was a very good effort considering that is not what she was bred for.  Indeed, she produced by far and away her best performance last time out when stepped up in trip to 2m7f in a chase at Killarney at the end of August on soft ground.  On this occasion she gave a prolific winner of Joseph O’Brien’s, Anything Will Do plenty to think about, displaying a good attitude in the process.  An Irish hurdle rating of 97 and a chase mark of 109 look reasonable given that her Killarney conqueror Anything Will Do is rated 133, whilst the third home was rated 126 and the well-beaten fourth and fifth 126 and 119 respectively!

A lovely type, standing at 16.1hh.  She remains unexposed at staying trips and looks to have the scope for further improvement.

She is fit and ready to run and will enjoy the soft ground we can reasonably expect over the winter and looks a good buy at £22,000+VAT and expenses.

To Fly Free
2017 Bay Filly
By: Soldier Hollow
Out of: Telling Stories (FR)
By: Canford Cliffs

I was delighted to purchase To Fly Free from the Arqana sales for a very reasonable price.  A three year old filly, she has been quite highly tried on the flat in France this season, contesting a Listed contest and a class 2 race before disappointing last time.  She is a winner on the flat and has a current rating of around 77 which makes her extremely good value for money.

Furthermore, she comes from the same connections as Night Edition who won for us over hurdles at Ludlow last season, as well as finishing runner-up in the Grade 2 Triumph Hurdle Trial and 2nd in the Boodles Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival itself, so I am confident there is improvement to be had.

Whilst not over-big, she is very athletic and looks just the type for juvenile hurdles.  She is fit and ready to run and we will be schooling her over hurdles immediately so she will be racing again very shortly. There are plenty of winnable three year old races at this time of year, whilst later in the season she will be able to claim a big weight allowance in handicaps.

She is for sale for only £6,000 + associated expenses and she looks tremendous value at that price.  Certain to give any potential owner a lot of fun for a relatively small outlay.
