There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Sedgefield and Southwell as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton. David has two runners today as exciting bumper winner Induno makes his debut over timber in the 2m1f novices' hurdle at Sedgefield at 2.20pm, whilst Paricolor bids to follow-up his Fakenham success in the conditionals and amateur riders handicap hurdle at 3.20pm. Induno (pictured above) has looked a most promising type in bumpers, winning well at Ffos Las last time and has always looked the type to progress over obstacles. He looks to be the one to beat under Tom Scudamore. Our other runner, Paricolor won well at Fakenham last time under amateur jockey Fergus Gillard and he is in the saddle again today. He carries a penalty for that success but receives a nice age allowance and is a progressive individual who must go close again.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Ludlow, Musselburgh and Kempton as well as an all-weather flat card from Chelmsford City. David has one runner this afternoon as Story Of Friends (pictured above) runs in the 2m conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Kempton at 3.40pm. He makes his handicap debut from a mark of 118 which does not seem unreasonable and the form of his last start has been subsequently well advertised with the winner obliging again. He was the winner of a bumper and a novices' hurdle earlier in the season and whilst he has also won an Irish point-to-point over three miles, he is not short of pace. Jonjo O'Neill Jr is a positive booking in the saddle and he looks sure to go well.

There is only one meeting taking place on these shores today and that is a jumps card from Uttoxeter. The ground there at present is soft (heavy in places) so if they have had anything like as much rain as we have, it is going to be extremely testing. It is obvious I know, but if you are thinking of having a wager, make sure that your selection is going to handle the mud. We were due to have a couple of runners at our local track, Exeter this afternoon. However following 55mm of rain on Friday night/Saturday morning they were unsurprisingly forced to abandon due to waterlogging. It is always a shame when the tracks lose the vital revenue that race days bring. Let’s hope they are back up and running in time for their next fixture on 6th December.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Ascot, Haydock and Huntingdon as well as all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Wolverhampton. As you would expect for a Saturday, there is some excellent racing to look forward to and David has a couple of runners at Haydock; Umbrigado and Know The Score. Umbrigado contests the Stayers' handicap hurdle at 2.25pm (a race David has won in the past with the likes of Grands Crus, Dynaste and Gevrey Chambertin when it was run over the brush hurdles). He was a high quality novice hurdler last term but he will need to be to land this ultra competitive handicap. This is his first try at 3m under rules, but he shapes as though it will suit - he will like the ground and has a good chance under Tom Scudamore.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Ascot, Catterick and Ffos Las supported by an all-weather flat card from Newcastle. David has two runners today; What A Moment at Ascot and Great Tempo at Ffos Las. What A Moment (pictured above) contests the 3m handicap chase at Ascot at 3.15pm and will be a big price. He was due to have a crack at a third victory in the amateur riders' race at Cheltenham last week but the race was lost to the weather. He is entitled to improve for his reappearance at Exeter after an absence of two years and is feasibly weighted from a mark 1lb higher than his last success. This is a competitive contest as you would expect so more is needed under Tom Scudamore.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Market Rasen and Wincanton and two all-weather flat fixtures from Newcastle and Chelmsford. David has two runners at Wincanton today; Into The Woods and Queen Adelaide. Into The Woods runs in the novices' hurdle at 2.50pm and he is likely to be a big price. He had some reasonable placed form in Irish point-to-points but disappointed on his rules debut in a decent Chepstow bumper. He is certainly better than that effort and this longer trip and obstacles could bring about some improvement under Tom Scudmore. Our other runner is Queen Adelaide (pictured above) who runs in the hands and heels handicap hurdle at 3.50pm. It is a race for conditional and amateur jockey so she is ridden by Fergus Gillard who claims 3lbs off her back. She ran well on her return from a 239 day absence to finish fourth at Exeter last time and she is 1lb lower today with this slightly shorter trip looking likely to suit. Looks to have sound claims.

It is great to see the stable continue in such good form with another good winner yesterday. Paricolor ran out a decisive winner of the amateur riders' handicap hurdle at Fakenham. Given a confident ride by up and coming young amateur Fergus Gillard, he moved closer at the end of the back straight and swept around the leader off the home turn to win going away. This was Fergus' first winner for the stable and we were all very pleased for him. It was also fantastic for owners' Guy and Jane Cunningham who have had horses at Pond House for many years and will have greatly enjoyed this success. Paricolor is only a three year old who has had four starts over hurdles, so he is certainly open to improvement and looks capable of winning again. Over at Lingfield Yaa Salaam ran a very nice race when close runner-up to a potentially very useful type. He seemed to handle the heavy ground okay but may be even better on a sounder surface.
