Lukke and Moodofthemoment after their win!
It's the start of a new week and we did have quite a busy weekend. On Saturday we had two runners at Uttoxeter's evening meet, Fighter Allen and Kauto Kawai. Fighter Allen, he had one jump across him with a circuit to go and I think he lost heart after that. He definitely has ability, but we haven't quite found the key to him just yet! Kauto Kawai was our second runner of the evening and it didn't help with having the hurdles taken out, but he didn't really keep going as well as we had hoped.

A quiet day for the stable yesterday with no runners, but today we are back in action at Uttoxeter tonight with 2 runners Fighter Allen and Kauto Kawai. Fighter Allen runs in the 6:30pm Handicap Chase over 3miles with Jack Tudor riding. He has just had two starts for the yard and once highly tried at Cheltenham, but he maybe didn't enjoy the drop back to 2 miles last time. This is a competitive race and he's the outsider of the field but the track and ground will be ok, hopefully a big run at an E/W price.

Yesterday afternoon we had one runner representing the stable at Salisbury on the Flat, Ocean Heights ran well for a long way and Jockey Finley Marsh thought the ground was plenty soft enough for him but it was a good run. Hopefully the handicapper can drop him a couple of pounds and I'm sure there can be plenty more fun to have with him this summer!

          Manuelito wins at Ffos Las!
It was great to get our first winner of the season at Ffos Las yesterday with Manuelito confirming all the promise he had previously shown with an impressive win under Jack Tudor.  This was our four year olds first run in a handicap and they went a strong gallop from the off, but Jack had him in a nice position throughout and challenged the leader just before the last and won going away.  He has a good level of ability with a great attitude to match, he loves good ground and will be kept on the go for now and may even have a run on the flat again at some point.

Manuelito is one of our 5 runners today!
We have five runners today at Ffos Las, Manuelito, Activist, Mr Tambourine Man, Paricolor and Heure De Gloire.  Behind the Curtain was also declared but he does not run.  Manuelito makes his handicap debut in the 2.30pm hurdle over 2 miles and Jack Tudor rides.  Our four year old has just had the three starts over hurdles and has improved with each run, winning a novice event at Wincanton last time.  He races today off a mark of 113 and while the race looks competitive I think he has scope for improvement off this rating and also gets a four year old age allowance as well.  The track and ground will be fine and he is a horse I like a lot.  The horse he finished second to at Taunton won again last week at Kempton, so the form looks solid and I expect him to put up a bold show at 11/2 second best in the betting.

Yesterday we had one runner at Hereford, Behind The Curtain for the David Pipe Racing Club. He ran a great race and returned to form from the front, he did everything right, but unfortunately he just got caught close to home! I'm sure over the summer he can get his head in front again.

       Behind The Curtain runs today!
There is one jump meeting today at Hereford, and we have one runner, Behind The Curtain. He runs in the 4:05pm Novices Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f and Jack Tudor rides. Our 10-year-old was the surprise 50/1 winner of a race at Wincanton last season under our amateur Martin McIntyre. He is not without ability and even though he was a big price when he won, it was not the biggest surprise to the stable that he ran well that day.
