There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Ludlow and Haydock as well as two all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Newcastle. David has runners at both National Hunt fixtures with Eamon An Cnoic running at Haydock and Red Square Revival and Abracadabra Sivola going to Ludlow. Eamon An Cnoic (pictured above) contests the 1.20pm race at Haydock - he was a progressive handicap hurdler last season but fell on his chasing debut last time. He has been intensively schooled at home since and is a course winner - this is a trappy little contest with not much to choose between the entire field on official figures. A clear round is first priority but he should go well under Tom Scu.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action coming from Southwell and Lingfield and well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton. David has one runner this afternoon as Delface (pictured above) contests the 2m3½f handicap hurdle at 3.30pm. He is already a winner at Wexford and Ffos Las and is entitled to have come on for his recent run at Leicester. The step-up in trip should help him and he looks to have sound each-way prospects under Tom Scudamore.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Plumpton and Fakenham as well as an all-weather flat fixture from Southwell. David has two runners this afternoon at Plumpton; Shaama Grise and Tigger Two. Shaama Grise (pictured above) makes her debut over fences today in the 2m1f novices' chase at 1.10pm. She produced some excellent efforts last term including when last seen when runner-up at Sandown. She gets a handy weight allowance and I don't think she will be inconvenienced by the trip so a big run is expected under Tom Scudamore. Tigger Two makes his second start in the bumper at 3.40pm - he shaped with promise at Chepstow and while he needs to improve, the experience will have done him the world of good.

There are two meetings taking place this afternoon, both over the jumps with cards from Carlisle and Leicester. Thankfully Carlisle passed an early morning inspection at the track yesterday but the ground is going to be extremely testing. They have been experiencing freezing temperatures at the track, but when it does thaw the going has been described as soft, heavy in places. It has been cold around Pond House as well, but with the woodchip gallop and the Wexford sand gallop we have had no issues whatsoever - it makes you wonder what trainers did years ago before the had access to these sort of facilities?

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Newbury, Newcastle, Doncaster and Bangor and an all-weather flat card from a very cold Wolverhampton. The big race of the day is undoubtedly the Ladbroke Trophy handicap chase from Newbury which has a first prize of £142,375. It is good of Ladbrokes to step in to sponsor the race as they have big shoes to fill - I am sure people will still be referring to the race as the Hennessy years from now. It is a very tricky contest to try to solve with the bookies going 5/1 the field. Stable jockey Tom Scudamore heads north to Newcastle where he has picked up a few outside rides, including in their feature, the Fighting Fifth.

It is another chilly start to the day at Pond House. There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Newbury and Doncaster as well as all-weather flat cards from Southwell and Chelmsford City. David does not have any runners today. Stable jockey Tom Scudamore heads to Newbury for just one ride, but what a ride it is...the return of Thistlecrack in the Grade 2 Long Distance hurdle at 3.00pm. It looks like a thriller with Unowhatimeanharry in opposition, even though that one is not favoured by the weights. The remainder of the card looks pretty exciting too, but if you are going make sure you wrap up - it is going to be cold!

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Taunton, Towcester and Musselburgh and an all-weather flat meeting from Newcastle. David runs Timeforben at Towcester in the 1m7½f maiden hurdle at 2.40pm. Our five year old won an Irish point-to-point and she finished a creditable third at Exeter on her hurdling debut last time. This stiff track should suit her and she has place claims under Tom Scudamore. Closer to home, at Taunton we have Tis What It Is (pictured above) in the 2m novices' hurdle at 12.20pm. He showed decent form but would need to improve on his most recent outing at the track to figure here.
