There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with the action coming from Doncaster and Huntingdon over the sticks, whilst there are all-weather flat fixtures from Chelmsford City and Newcastle.  After a quiet start to the week it is good to see the stable with a couple of runners at Donny.  Stream Lady (pictured above) contests the staying handicap chase at 1.23pm.  She ran a very good race last time when runner-up at Huntingdon over this trip and the better ground will suit.  This is a very competitive race for the grade with several in with chances, but Stream Lady is on the same mark as when successful at Sedgefield earlier in the season and looks to hold solid each-way claims under Tom Scudamore.  Out other runner is Flou Artsistique who runs in the 2m½f novices' hurdle at 3.30pm.  He ran okay at Exeter last time out but would need to improve if he were going to land this.  Tom Scu rides.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Ludlow and two all-weather flat meetings from Southwell and Wolverhampton.  There are no runners from the Pond House team.  Stable jockeys Tom Scudamore and David Noonan have a well-deserved day-off but you can be sure that they would rather be racing.  The life of a jump jockey is frantic at the best of times - only yesterday Tom was schooling at Pond House before finding out that he needed to travel to Market Rasen to deputise for the poorly Brendan Powell Jr on one mount.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Sedgefield and Market Rasen and an all-weather flat fixture from Kempton.  There are no runners from the stable today and Tom Scudamore also has the day off.  Meanwhile, David Noonan makes the long journey to Sedgefield for just one ride, but it is forecast favourite so let's hope that he is lucky.

It is a quiet start to the week with just two meetings taking place today following the abandonment of Fontwell due to waterlogging.  That leaves a jumps fixture from Carlisle and an all-weather flat fixture.  There are a few promising horses on view at Carlisle but it is hardly stuff to set the pulses racing and there are no runners from the Pond House team today.  Neither Tom Scudamore nor David Noonan have any outside rides today.  It really seems like a Monday morning in every sense!

Fergus Gillard in action on the sand gallop

It is a quiet Sunday for the yard with no runners from Pond House but there is jumping action at Taunton and Musselburgh as well as another top class card at Leopardstown.  It is the Irish Gold Cup at 3.30pm and Kemboy is forecast favourite but has to bounce back from a below par effort on his return last time.  He faces tough opposition from Delta Work, Presenting Percy and Chris's Dream who all have top class form.  There is also one English challenger in the race - Le Bague Au Roi but she is one of the outsiders at about 25/1.  The race before is a top class novice chase where we see Faugheen in action and his main rival looks to be the Gordon Elliott trained Battleoverdoyen although it is a high class field all round.  There could be plenty of Cheltenham Festival pointers after a very interesting weekend of racing in Ireland.  There is likely to be runners at Fontwell from the yard on Monday so check back here for more news in the morning.

Eden Du Houx - Winner at Chepstow

There was a great win for Eden Du Houx at Chepstow yesterday in a tight finish and he had to survive a stewards inquiry.  He had some very smart bumper form last season and had run okay over hurdles before Christmas but he has had a wind operation since then and it definitely seemed to have helped in yesterday.  He led and jumped well but did drift a little left and bumped his rival between the last two flights of hurdles.  He and the runner up had a dueling battle up the run in and we just prevailed.  I think both he and the runner up are two very nice prospects and I hope he can build on this and rank highly among the leading novice hurdlers by the end of the season.

There was another good result for the yard yesterday as Main Fact (pictured above) won for the third time in the space of nine days when coming home well clear in the 2m handicap hurdle at Ffos Las under amateur jockey Fergus Gillard.  He was on and off the bridle at times, but was on terms with the winner between the last two flights and came well clear on the run-in to score decisively.  He continues very much on the upgrade but the handicapper is sure to make life more difficult for him in the future.  The ground was very testing there yesterday, changing from soft (heavy in places) to heavy after the first race and only became worse as the drizzly conditions remained.  Mr Clarkson and Dusky Hercules disappointed at the Welsh track, but can struggled in conditions and will do better on a sounder surface.
