Royal Predica
Royal Predica was a 1994 French bred chestnut gelding by Tip Moss and his dam was called Girl Vamp. Once again he was not one of the best horses or most well-known horses to have been at Pond House but he was a Cheltenham Festival winner who definitely deserves a mention. He was not a model of consistency throughout his career but he was pretty good on his day and mixed with the best company.

Contraband
Contraband was a 1998 born gelding by Red Ransom and his dam was called Shortfall. He began life on the flat in the care of William Haggas He had one run for experience as a two year old but developed into a pretty useful performer on the level as a three and four year old. His first victory came on his fourth start in June 2001 at Musselburgh. He won over 1m1f with Darryl Holland riding. He won the following month at Ascot very easily over 1m4f with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle on this occasion. He was then absent from the race track for over a year, returning to action in August 2002. It took him a couple of runs to find his form again but won on his third start back at York with Kieran Fallon riding.

Puntal
Puntal was a 1996 born bay gelding by Bering and his dam was Saveur. He ran in the famous white with red spots colours of owner Terry Neill, the same as those carried by the ill-fated Gloria Victis. Puntal began his career on the flat in France but only had a couple runs before running over hurdles for trainer F Belmont. He was placed six times without winning at Auteuil before being bought privately and coming over to England at the beginning of 2002.

Seebald
Seebald was a 1995 German born bay gelding by Mulberry out of a dam called Spartina. He was a high class horse I remember fondly from the days of when I first started working at Pond House. He began his career on the flat in Germany for trainer P Rau as a two year old. He was a winner of four races from ten starts over there before he was bought privately to run in the white colours of former Liverpool and England footballers Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler.

He has won two flat races in his career, the last in July 2016 but he has been high class over hurdles in the meantime and has some great form. He is a six time hurdle winner rated 143 and was second in the Scottish Champion hurdle trial at Ayr back in November on his penultimate start.

Carryonharry
Carryonharry was a 1994 born grey gelding by Roselier and his dam was Bluebell Avenue. He may not have been one of the best horses to have been through Pond House but he was certainly very good in his grade. He gave Gerry Supple the biggest win of his riding career when they won a valuable handicap chase at Kempton and I know there is a very nice big picture of him hanging above Gerry’s mantle piece!

It Takes Time
It Takes Time was a 1994 born bay gelding by Monrelimar out of a mare called Dysart Lady. He may not have been a household name but he was a very good horse on his day and was always dining at the top table so to speak. He started his career in bumpers in Ireland and after finishing second on debut he won his next two starts both at Leopardstown. He won by a very impressive 15 lengths the first time and although made to work harder the second time, in January 2000, he still won well. Owner David Johnson bought him privately after this.
