Take Control
Take Control was the winner of the Scottish National in 2002 in the colours of David Johnson and was ridden by Ruby Walsh. He was a 1994 born bay gelding by sire Roselier and out of a dam called Frosty Fairy. He began his career in Ireland in the care of J J Murphy making his debut under rules at Cork in 1998. He actually had three disappointing runs over hurdles where he was well beaten before they returned him to a bumper at Naas in February 1999 and he bolted up over 2m3f!

Majadou
Majadou has the accolade of being A P McCoy’s 1000th winner in Britain and he is a Cheltenham Festival winner. Owned by the Batterham family, he was a 1994 born son of Cadoudal and his dam was Majathen. He began his career in France with Guy Cherel and his racecourse debut was over hurdles at Toulouse in October 1997. He was beaten a distance but improved on this markedly to finish third next time out.

Riverside Boy
Riverside was another star for Pond House in the 90’s. He was a 1983 born chestnut gelding by the sire Funny Man and his dam was Tamorina. His first appearance on a racecourse was at Cheltenham in April 1988 in a Bumper where he finished second of 23 runners, keeping on at the finish to be only beaten 1.5 lengths. He suffered a tendon injury after this and was not seen back on the racecourse until he was an eight year old in 1991.

Far Cry
Far Cry was a 1995 born bay gelding by Pharly out of a mare called Darabaka. He started out his career on the flat for Sir Mark Prescott as a three year old and had a very similar profile to a lot of his horses when they first start there racing. Unplaced on his first four starts on the flat he improved for a step up in trip and won his first race over 1m4f at Southwell in November 1998.

Rushing Wild (right)

Rushing Wild was a 1985 born bay gelding by Rushmere out of a dam called Lady Em II. He started his career relatively late on in life and unfortunately it was tragically cut short when he was fatally injured in the Irish Grand National in 1993 but he was high class. He began his career as a six year old in British point to points in 1991 in the care of Richard Barber and was ridden by J Farthing.

Beau Ranger
Beau Ranger is another golden oldie who had a remarkable career back in the 1980’s. A 1978 born, handsome chestnut with a big white blaze, he was the son of Beau Chapeau out of mare called Sand Martin. He won two National Hunt flat races for P Hogan in Ireland and came over to England for a career with J Thorne in 1982.

Celestial Gold

Back to more recent times but another fantastic horse for Pond house who ran in the blue and green colours of David Johnson. Celestial Gold was a 1998 born brown gelding by Persian Mews and his dam was What A Queen. He had one run in an Irish point to point and finished second at Dromahane with J T McNamara on board in April 2002.
