It looks like being a quiet day on the racing front with no stable runners today. There is a flat meeting at York and a jumps fixture at Fontwell and the York card looks interesting although five of the seven races look to be very tricky. I reckon that finding a winner or two could be very difficult and it might be better concentrating on Fontwell this afternoon for punting purposes.

Why is it that players like Ronaldo complain that he is not happy. As my old grandmother would have said, "he don't know he's been born!". I know a few million people who would like to enjoy Ronaldo's lifestyle...if you agree get in the queue behind me!
Talking of football, I always enjoy watching Swindon manager Paulo di Canio when he is in the dug-out (if he stays in it!). Former Hammer di Canio always lets his feelings be known to his players - I thought that he was very hard on young goalkeeper Wes Foderingham the other day when he pulled him after just twenty-one minutes. It wouldn't have done the keepers confidence much good, but I suppose at least you know what you are going to get when you play for di Canio.
I see that Harry Redknapp has returned to his old club Bournemouth where he is acting as an unpaid advisor to the team. Football is in Harry's blood - you can't just walk away from it (it's not all about the money, or so I am told!). Harry is great for the game and the sport needs him back in the upper echelons as soon as possible.

If you enjoy a spot of fishing you should certainly head off to the Welsh coast quickly as a record number of sharks are being caught. Apparently during the last four days anglers have landed no fewer than 162 fish, although it is probably not the place to be if you like a swim!
