It was a good weekend for the yard with a number of noteworthy performances, not least the success of Premier Dane (pictured above) at Market Rasen on his first start for the stable.  He beat stablemate Raslan in a thrilling finish and netted winning owners The Hush Hush Partnership nearly £10,000 - I wonder if they know they have won?!  I thought that Raslan ran a cracker in second (only beaten 1/2 length) and showed a lot more sparkle than of late - he will surely head to Newton Abbot now for the big summer hurdle that he won there in 2009 and 2010.  Shoegazer also posted a good effort when finishing fifth reverting to hurdles in the valuable handicap at Cartmel.  He was in front over the last but just weakened in the final 100 yards.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon, with four of them on the flat at Ayr, Southwell, Windsor and Beverley and one meeting over jumps at lovely Cartmel.  The stable does not have any runners today.

MCP__Zoe_BirdArise Sir Bradley Wiggins!  What a performance to be the first British person to win the Tour de France.  I am going to dig out my penny farthing in the garage and take up cycling again!  It will be interesting to see if Martin (pictured right) does the same - he has always been quite handy on his bike!

I wonder what must be going through golfer Adam Scott's mind this morning.  He should have won The Open Golf Championship yestserday but completely bottled it and handed victory to veteran South African Ernie Els.  Scott finished his round with four consecutive bogeys - I am sure that will scar his mind as he will undoubtedly never get a better chance to land a major championship.  I see that he was matched at 1/50 on Betfair, so I reckon some of the punters might be scarred for life too!  It will certainly be interesting to see how Scott gets on - McIlroy had a similar thing happen to him and then he came out to win the next major!

Talking of golf, what about Carlos Tevez carrying the golf bag for Andres Romero?  Despite being on funny money, these footballers will do anything not to pay the price of admission!
