Today is Ladies Day at Royal Ascot and the highlight on the card is the Ascot Gold Cup and it will be interesting to see if Fame And Glory can follow-up his victory of twelve months ago and maintain Aidan O'Brien's stranglehold on the race (Yeats' four victories mean that he has won the race and incredible five times in the last six years).  It was a good day for the Ballydoyle team yesterday with them winning the opener with Islivana and the Prince Of Wales with So You Think, who was recording his tenth success in Group One company.  Incidentally Islivana was owned and bred by Anne-Marie O'Brien (Aidan's wife) - talk about keeping it in the family!  There was a sting in the tail for jockey Seamie Heffernan though as he landed himself in hot water with the stewards and picked up a seven day ban for his use of the whip.

In all there are five meetings today with Ripon and Warwick supporting the Royal Meeting on the flat, while there is also jumps action from Ffos Las and Fontwell.  We have one runner, Martial Law who travels to the Welsh track.  Remember, he was clear when falling at the last there three starts ago - he has gained compensation since with success at Worcester, but let's hope that he can put the record straight at Ffos Las tonight.

Yesterday's runner Enfant de Lune looked to get tired after leading into the straight and maybe he will benefit from a further drop in trip?  He certainly has the ability to win a race of this nature over fences.

It was a good day for our text tipping service yesterday as we put up Prince Of Johane in the Royal Hunt Cup, a tasty 16/1 winner! You will also have been pointed in the direction of Mexican Bob at Worcester who rewarded his supporters at odds of 3/1!  To receive text tips from us, simply text PIPE to 84010 (Texts are charged at £1.50 per message.  To unsubscibe text PIPE STOP to 84010).

I am looking forward to a potentially cracking football match tonight as The Czech Republic take on Portugal.  Christiano Ronaldo has hit some form and at odds of around 4/5, Portugal look to be the likeliest winners to me.  It all kicks off at 7.45pm on BBC 1.

I see that boxer David Haye has had his licence granted through the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.  Surely it's time that this kind of "back door entry" is prevented from happening.  I cannot for the life of me understand why The World Boxing Federation can't have just one boxing board that grants licences.
