Weekend Jottings!

There is a good jumping card at Uttoxeter this afternoon and the stable will have four runners courtesy of On Khee, Bathwick Man, Kusadasi and Catch Tammy.  Bathwick Man won a competitive handicap at Towcester last week (pictured above) and will be bidding to supplement that success here.  Tom Scudamore will be aboard all of our runners this afternoon.

There is also another jumps card at Fontwell taking place this afternoon and flat meeting at Nottingham.  I notice that at Nottingham there is a race called "The Black And White Christmas Party Handicap" - please tell me it is not nearly that time of the year again already!

Meanwhile over in France, it is French Derby Day at Chantilly and there are no fewer than four British raiders - Ektihaam, Most Improved, Gregorian and Irish challenger Imperial Monarch.  They look to be a strong team of challengers, so let's hope that one of them is successful.

I see that new Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers is only a 5/2 chance to get Liverpool back into the top 4 of the Premiership.  That seems to be a very short price to me, especially when you consider the two Manchester clubs above them, as well as Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham...come to think of it, the price is starting to look even shorter as I write it down!

The Spanish national side have been banned from using social networking website Twitter while on duty during Euro 2012.  I bet someone will leak something out - these major championships wouldn't be the same without some sort of scandal!
