David has one runner today at Punchestown as we start day one of the Festival.  War Singer runs in the 4.55pm handicap hurdle which looks very competitive and Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  David is currently on in way over to Ireland this morning and I am sure he will have a good couple of days whatever the results!  The weather has claimed to fixtures in England today with both Newton Abbot and Folkestone being abandoned due to waterlogging.  I live near Newton Abbot and we certainly have had a lot of rain in the last few days.  I mean I have heard of April showers but yesterday must have been called April flooding!  It is dry at the moment but we are forecast more rain later and tomorrows forecast looks very wet as well!

Spirit of Barbados finished third on his chasing debut at Ffos Las last night.  He jumped well and maybe a drop back in trip can see him win over fences.  Loves a Brazilian ran okay on his racecourse debut and he is a big chasing type who is sure to improve a lot for the experience.  The ground at Hexham yesterday was heavy and a couple of the races were over a minute slower than standard.  I don't think I would have liked to have walked up the last couple of furlongs with that uphill finish!  After Another Buck won the hunter chase on the card the owners wife, Venetia said "he's a bit of a character and if he was a human you wouldn't want want to meet him in a pub".  At first i thought she was talking about her husband!  Maybe he would be a little horse!

If you have followed me and took the price about West Ham last night they won 2-1.  They did look different class to Leicester although at 2-1 it always makes me a little nervous for the last 10 minutes.  Meanwhile, Chelsea go to the Nou Camp tonight.  They have a 1-0 lead but I am not sure that is enough.  Barcelona are best priced 4/9 to qualify.  I don't like betting big odds on but that could be the bet for me.  In the Premier league tonight Aston Villa need to beat Bolton.  One of our owners Matt Archer who lives in Cyprus will be keeping a close eye on this match, he is a Villa supporter!
