Pond House did not have any winners on the last day of the Festival but I thought AP gave Synchronised a fantastic ride to win the Gold Cup.  Ted Walsh said "it wasn't out of the ordinary".  I think as you get older you see things differently.  Champion hurdle winning jockey Noel Fehily said " How he won i'll never know", while Davy Russell said it was a great ride.  Ted Walsh must have been looking at a different race!  Tom Scu finished a gallant second on The Giant Bolster.  I said to Tom afterwads that he was probably working out his percentage as he crossed the line.  Tom replied I was working it out coming to the last!  It may not have been the best Gold Cup of all time but it certainly one of the most exciting and the only thing you can say for sure is that it was won by the greatest jockey of all time!  Well done to all connections.

David has runners at three different meetings today so there is no let up at Pond House!  We have five runners at Uttoxeter, Bathwick Brave, Shoegazer, Quinte Du Chatelet and two runners in the feature race, the Midlands Grand National, Tamarinbleu and Master Overseer.  David won this race 12 months ago with Minella Four Star but it will be a tough task this afternoon.  Tamarinbleu has been running well and very consistently all season and although trying a new trip it appears in all runs this year that it should pose no problems.  Tom Bellamy claims a valuable 10 pounds off his back and it would be no surprise to see him run a big race.  Master Overseer is a winner and runner up of the Sussex National and the further the better for him.  He has been slightly disappointing in his last two runs but has been freshened up since and fingers crossed he should run well.  David has one runner at Kempton, Ashbrittle with Conor O'Farrell in the saddle.  I am pleased to report that although Conor is a little stiff and sore after two nasty falls at Cheltenham he is okay and will be riding today - these jockeys are made of tough stuff!  Hadden Frost is on board our two runners at Ffos Las, African Broadway and Roi De Rose and both horses have fairly good chances.

I am pleased to report that all our horses have come back safe and well from the Festival which is the best news.  Notus De La Tour and Street Entertainer had quite nasty falls and although they are a little sore they are both okay.  I can't believe it is all over for another year!  We do have Aintree to look forward to of course but I can't wait for the 2013 Festival!  Have a nice day.
