It was great for David and the stable to have a winner yesterday.  Salut Flo made all in the Byrne Group chase and won by six lengths and the noise in the marquee was deafening!  It seemed like everyone had backed him!  Mind you MCP was tipping him to everyone that would listen!  Click on 'read more' for a little video clip of him returning to the winners enclosure.  It was great for Tom Scu as well as he gave him a great ride to record his second festival success, these winners are very hard to come by and mean so much to everyone.  It was great for owner Allan Stennet as well.  He is a great supporter of David and National Hunt racing and his patience with Salut Flo has been rewarded.  It was only our geldings second run in almost two years after suffering a tendon injury and it was fantastic to get him back in such fine form.

Obviously the other great story from yesterday was Big Bucks winning his fourth World hurdle and extending his unbeaten run to 16.  The reception he got when he came back into the winners enclosure had to be seen to be believed. As I mentioned yesterday I just had a feeling he may get beaten but what a superstar he is and he is probably the best staying hurdle we have ever seen.

David has five runners today, Big Occasion, I'msingingtheblues, Arab League, Dan Breen and Street Entertainer.  Master of Arts does not run in the County hurdle.  David would love to win his fathers race, the Martin Pipe Conditional handicap hurdle at 4.40pm and David has four chances this afternoon.  Owner Stuart Mercer has two of these four runners Arab league and Dan Breen and you will be able to spot him on the television by his tie, it will be the most colourful in the parade ring!  It is a big day today for the Gold Cup with Kauto Star versus Long Run.  The big question is can Kauto Star win again or will Long Run retain his crown?  Kauto is a superstar and owes nothing to anyone.  At about 3.30pm this afternoon we shall no the result and there will not be a dry eye in the house if Kauto were to win.  Paul Nicholls is very lucky to have two superstars in his yard and probably the likes of we will never see again.  Have a good day everyone and enjoy the final days action, I can't believe it is nearly over already!  Time flies when you are having fun!   We me up with an old friend in the paddock at Cheltenham yesterday, Harvey Smith.  Harvey is the legendery showjumper and a real character and it was great to catch up with him yesterday.
