       Battle Group Finished Fourth

David has ten runners today at Cheltenham.  Close House, Fiulin, The Tracey Shuffle, Grands Crus, I'm So lucky, Star of Angels, Poole Master, Balgarry, Consigliere and Kazlian.  Most people's eyes will be on Grands Crus in the 2.40pm RSA chase.  I think they have made the right decision by running him in this race and he is 6/4 favourite.  Fingers crossed!  I watched all the horses loaded on the lorry this morning and the atmosphere in the yeard is that of excitement.  We also have some interesting runners in the handicaps and a lot of people in the yard cannot split Poole Master and Balgarry.  It looks a good days racing so I hope you all enjoy it.  If you are going to Cheltenham today make sure you allow plenty of time to get in.  It took us over an hour to do the last mile yesterday and even two hours after the last race you could still not get out of the car park!

I owe Tom Scu a drink after this week is over.  We did not get to the marquee in time to do our 12 noon tipping session but Tom filled in the gap for us.  Apparantly he opened up by saying he had some good news and some bad news.  The bad news is David is stuck in traffic and can't get here in time, the good news is you will not have to listen to Chester's tips and he got a big round of applause!  Are they trying to to tell me something?!  Tom will get some stick today!

The stable had three runners yesterday and two fourth places.  The Package ran very well on his comeback and he looked like he was going to win jumping the second last but he weakened on the flat.  Battle Group ran a similar sort of race but it was a great run at odds of 33/1 and by the noise in our marquee a lot of people must have had each way bets on him!   I am pleased to report they all seem fine this morning after their races

I am sure we had the youngest racegoer at Cheltenham in our marquee yesterday!  David's daughter Sophie made her first trip to the races at only one week old with mum Leanne.  They had a lovely day and Sophie was brilliant.  Leanne was even interviewd by Clare Balding for BBC radio 5 live about their week leading up to Cheltenham.  David's son Jack also made his first ever day racing at the Festival two years ago, but he was a little older than sister Sophie, he was three weeks old!!  Have a good day everyone.
