The stable has just the one runner this afternoon at Leicester as ex-French import Kazlian takes on his elders for the first time in the novices' hurdle at 1.10pm.  He may not have beaten much at Ffos Las last time out but he was full value for the winning margin of fifty lengths and certainly looks like a useful performer in the making.

There was a real turn-up in the Mares' EBF NH Novices' Hurdle at Taunton yesterday when 200/1 shot Lights Of Broadway beat fellow outsiders Wishes And Stars (50/1) and Fortuna Rose (33/1).  You would have to say that the place dividend on the winner was a trifle disappointing - a paltry £12.60, however the computer straight forecast was a little more rewarding at just under £3,500.  It is a shame that it wasn't a tricast race as I would love to have seen how much that would have returned!  One lucky punter, an 83 year old lady had £10 each way on the winner - her formbook must be worth an absolute fortune, or maybe she just lives in Broadway and is the chief light switcher-oner?!

I see that trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni will be having more than 300 horses to train for the boys in blue this coming flat season.  Surely with that many horses at his disposal he would have a good chance to land his first trainer's championship?  Bet 365 make him a 16/1 chance, while Hills offer 14/1 - I could well be tempted to have a little investment!

Fairy stories do come true!  Footballing legend Thierry Henry came on to play for Arsenal yesterday and scored the winning goal to put Leeds out of the FA Cup.  The Frenchman was a 9/2 chance to open the scoring - I wonder how many times he will play in the Premiership?
