The stable has three runners at Hereford this afternoon - Chartreux, Piraya and The Tatkin.  Chartreux was a very useful handicap hurdler (and a winning point-to-pointer) who makes his debut over fences in the 3m beginners chase.  Remember, he was sent off favourite for the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March - he should make a nice novice and I will be fascinated to see how he gets on.

I know that it is not nice to have your house burned down, as happened to Lambour trainer Oliver Sherwood not too long ago, but at least he did have on piece of luck.  Sherwood, who is captain of the Lambourn Cricket XI was relieved to find that the fire had missed his cricket bat and gear - howzat?!

I wonder if cricketing legend Tendulkar will ever get to 100 centuries?  He seems to keep getting off to a good start but cannot seem to get that magical 100 - perhaps he should be told when he is nearing a hundred so he can dispatch it quickly - these things are purely psychological and all in the mind...maybe he should play against the Lambourn XI!

A long time ago I once put petrol in my diesel car and could not believe I had been so stupid.  At least now I am in good company as former boxer Ricky Hatton did the same thing with his wife's car!  Mind you, I wouldn't call him stupid unless he was on the other end of a phone!
