        Harry Junior Exeter Winner

It was great to get another win from Harry Junior at Exeter on Friday.  He was given a lovely front running ride from Jack Tudor and he battled on well when challenged by the favourite from two out.  He is a relatively lightly raced six year old who is still learning on the job but he shows a great attitude.  We gave him a mid-season break as he does not like the ground too testing and it was nice to see him return to action with a bang.  There is still scope for improvement after he has been reassessed by the handicapper and he will be even better over fences next season.  Givehimthehonour was our final runner on Friday at Exeter and the ground was a bit too lively for him and he found everything happening a bit too quickly for him.  He is absolutely fine after the race and it will rain again very soon!

Turenne ran okay at Sandown to be fourth.  I'd hope he would be better than this on what he shows at home and there were no real excuses.  Sometimes these French horses take a little time to acclimatise to British racing and I am sure we will see a different horse in time.

There are no runners for the team today but there are two jumps meetings at Carlisle and Warwick.  There is no flat racing but in Ireland there is a jumps card at Naas.

Declarations are made this morning for the first day of the Cheltenham Festival and so we will know the Tuesday runners a bit later this morning.

Jack Pipe is in action at Blackmore and Sparkford point to point on his pony Little Chiefy in the 148cm race.  This will be their second outing of the season and I shall let you know how they get on tomorrow.

FA Cup fifth round football action continues today.  Fulham play Southampton at 12 noon, Port Vale host Sunderland at 1.30pm and Leeds are at home to in-form Norwich at 4.30pm.

I was struggling to understand how lightning works...

And then it struck me!

Have a lovely Sunday!
