Harry Junior runs at Exeter Today
It is a busy Sunday for the team with three runners at Exeter. Punta Del Este, Best Night and Harry Junior make up our trio and all will be ridden by Jack Tudor. The first race is at 12.21pm but our first runner is Punta Del Este in the 2.01pm handicap hurdle over 2m2f.
He carries top weight and currently is the outsider of the field as he does have to improve on recent efforts to be competitive here. He does have some very good form in the book but is yet to really sparkle for us so let’s just hope today can be the day! The handicapper has given him a bit of help and he is now two pounds below his last winning mark. He goes well enough at home to suggest he can run well in a race like this so hopefully we can have a good run today with cheekpieces added for the first time.
Best Night makes her handicap debut in the 3.11pm handicap hurdle for four year olds. She has had just the two starts for us, winning on debut at Newton Abbot and then running okay to be third carrying a penalty in a novice event after this. She has had a wind op since and this will be her first run back. She has some good flat form in France and shows a great attitude. I think the track and ground will suit and even though this looks a tough race on paper, I would like to think she won’t be too far away come finish.
Harry Junior runs in the final race on the card, the 2m5f handicap hurdle and he is looking to follow up his win at Lingfield last time. That was over three miles and so it is a slight drop in trip but around this track is should not matter and he wears cheek pieces for the first time this afternoon. He is improving all the time and I expect him to go well again.
The others jumps racing today come from Windsor with nothing on the flat but in Ireland they have two jumps cards at Punchestown and Cork. Punchestown features the Grade 1 John Durkan chase at 3pm for which Fact or File just heads the market ahead of stablemate Gaelic Warrior. Fastorslow is next best in the betting before a little gap to the others and it promises to be a good race.
There are just two Premier League football matches today with Leeds against Aston Villa at 2pm while Arsenal are at home to Spurs at 4.30pm.
The International rugby matches continue with Scotland playing Tonga at 1.40pm while England play Argentina at 4.10pm.
At the time of writing, England are about to lose the first Ashes Test to Australia in Perth quite emphatically and will have to play much better going forwards.
As a mum, I sleep peacefully knowing that if someone breaks in, they’ll trip over my kids toys and meet their end!
Have a fab Sunday!
