Halfway Through

We are halfway through the week and the jumps cards today come from one of our local tracks, Newton Abbot with an evening card at Warwick tonight also. The flat action comes from Nottingham and Ripon, with no all-weather action planned. In Ireland, they are on the flat at the Curragh. No runners for the stable today.

It is a big day off the track as declarations for the Betfred Derby will be announced at 10am and connections with runners in the race will gather in Epsom, for the live draw. They use balls and containers from the official FA Cup draw to determine which stalls, this year’s field will enter in the classic!

In the flat world Saffie Osborne has been reflecting on a real pinch me moment in her career as she gears up for another big-race ride in America in the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes on Saturday. She will make the trip over on Wednesday to partner Heart Of Honor who is trained by her father, Jamie.

England failed to reach the semi-finals of the Women's Nations League with a defeat from Spain 2-1. They certainly soaked up the pressure but managed to maintain their lead at half time but Spain continued to pile on the pressure with a 70th minute goal.
