New Week

It's the start of a new week and we head into June! The jumps action comes from Market Rasen, which is the sole meeting in Britain. The flat cards come from Brighton, Windsor and Wetherby while in Ireland, they race over both codes with jumping at Listowel and a flat card at Gowran Park. The stable have no runners today.

Over the weekend we were fairly quiet in the runners department but we had Old Bridge at Stratford, Saturday evening. He ran quite keen throughout which wouldn't have helped him and his jumping wasn't quite as smooth as it can be. He did have a hood beforehand and maybe reapplying that will help him next time. 

The Betfred Derby countdown enters the final phase and the confirmations for the Epsom classic this Saturday will be arrived at noon. A total of 25 runners are still on course for the race but it's likely the number will change heading into the five-day stage. 

Over on the jumps four last time out winners are set to make their appearance today at Market Rasen, in the 3:25pm Handicap Hurdle. Letterson Lady for Mickey Bowen takes on the likes of High Fibre, Donnie Azoff and Go Go Chicago. 

In the football over the weekend it was PSG who produced an excellent display, to dominate the match 5-0 against rivals Inter Milan. The Champions League had remained out of reach for PSG but the curse was finally broken.
