Sirekoff Runs at Worcester Today
There are two jumps meetings today at Worcester and Sedgefield and we have three runners at the former. Sirekoff, Chauffeur Driven and Pub Crawl all run at Worcester this afternoon and Jack Tudor is on board all three. Sirekoff runs in the 4.30pm handicap hurdle over 2m7f. He ran his best race for a while last time at Worcester, appreciating the return to better ground and step up in distance. The handicapper has nudged him back up two pound for his latest run but we have added cheek pieces today and a repeat effort of last time should see him go very close. He is 11/4 second best in the betting.
Chauffeur Driven runs in division one of the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 5.50pm. This looks quite an open race and I could see anyone of several winning so let us just hope it is us! He has ability, which he shows us at home but his record on the racetrack could be better! Last time out was over fences so we will forgive him that and hopefully he can bounce back today. My only worry is the trip might be a little short on this quicker ground but I hope he can prove me wrong!
Pub Crawl runs in the concluding race on the Worcester card, division two of the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 5.35pm. We step him up in distance today, which he should enjoy as he did stay two miles on the flat. He finished fourth at Sedgefield last time on a return from a winter break and is he takes a step forward from that run he should be involved in the finish. From a win perspective, he is a little tricky as he is yet to win any race but once again, he does have ability, he should travel well over the extra distance and we will see what happens at the end, fingers crossed!
There are two flat meetings today at Beverley and Chepstow and in Ireland they have a meeting under each code. They race over jumps at Sligo and on the flat at Killarney.
Happy retirement to jockey Rachel Blackmore who made the announcement to retire from the saddle on Monday afternoon. Her roll of honour is quite incredible when you look back at the horses she has been associated with and the races she has won. A very talented rider she has done a lot for our sport and I will miss watching her ride but I am sure we haven’t seen the last of her!
Bristol City lost the second leg of their Championship semi-final play-off last night 3-0 away to Sheffield United, 6-0 on aggregate. Sheffield United will find out this evening who there opponents will be as Sunderland play Coventry at 8pm. Coventry have to try and overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg.
My mobile phone accidentally took a 10 minute video of my shoes yesterday.
It was some pretty good footage!
Have a good day!
