Chemical Warfare 7th Win of the Season
The weekend is back around and it is a busy day for racing. The jumps action comes from Ayr with their Scottish Grand National card continuing and Bangor-On-Dee. There is plenty of flat action today with Newbury, Brighton, Thirsk and Nottingham all with cards. Over in Ireland, they continue to race over both codes with jumps action at Bellewstown and a flat card at the Curragh.
It is a quiet weekend for the stable with no runners planned. Yesterday at Ayr Phantomofthepoints ran another solid race to finish 4th and was just unlucky to miss out on 3rd place at the post. The ground was plenty quick enough for him but he ran well and he is now on his summer holidays.
Over at Sedgefield Pub Crawl was returning to action after a little holiday and that may have shown in his run, he ran well for a long way but just couldn’t quite quicken on the run in and I’m sure he’ll improve from this run. Chemical Warfare was back to winning ways and just held on in the run in, he is such a tough and consistent horse and that is his 7th win this season! He has been a fantastic horse for both us and his owners and is a pleasure to have in the yard.
The main jumps action looks towards the Scottish Champion Hurdle and the Scottish National which comes from Ayr. Willie Mullins will have a team of 6 runners in the Scottish National, but noticeably none of his runners will be ridden by stable jockey Paul Townend who’s not made the trip over at all.
This weekend bids to be an important one for the trainers’ title as Willie bids to defend the British trainers’ championship, which is currently led by Dan Skelton who did start the Scottish meeting with a treble on the card yesterday.
Away from the racing action, plenty of Premier League action to keep you busy this afternoon. Man City vs. Crystal Palace at 12:30pm, Brighton vs. Leicester, Nottingham Forest vs. Everton and Southampton vs. Aston Villa all kick off at 3pm. The later game comes from Arsenal vs. Brentford at 5:30pm.
What did the dalmation say after his dinner?
That hit the spot!
Have a great weekend!
