          Johannes runs today
The racing action today comes from Hereford and Newton Abbot who both have jumps cards, while the all-weather action comes from Lingfield and an evening card at Newcastle. In Ireland, they are jumping at Limerick.

Today we head to Newton Abbot with the one runner for their season opener meeting, Johannes runs in the 2:45pm Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 5f with Ben Bromley riding. The ground conditions in his last race were really testing and I think that did not help him at all, so returning to the better ground today will hopefully suit and we can try see some improvement.

Yesterday we were at Taunton with Kintaro and it wasn't his day yesterday. He was travelling strongly throughout and just couldn't quite quicken at the end, maybe this race came a little too quick from his previous run last week.

Things are looking towards Ayr’s two day meeting on Friday and Saturday with the final field for the Scottish Grand National on Saturday’s card will be revealed today. The card will become an important playing field for the Champion Trainer title between Willie and Dan!

Last night saw the scenes of Nick Rockett, I Am Maximus and Grangeclare West parading through Leighlinbridge in Ireland after their 1-2-3 effort in the Grand National. The parades always attract a huge crowd in general whether over in Ireland or over here in Britain and it definitely shows how many people do actually take an interest in the race itself and support the local yards.

In the football action last night, the results were as Barcelona 4-0 Dortmund and PSG 3-1 Aston Villa. Tonight there is lots of action coming from the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals, which begins from 5:45pm.
