Quiet Mid-Week

It's the middle of the week, the jumps action is coming from Catterick which is the sole jumping card today. The all-weather cards come from Lingfield and an evening card comes from Kempton. It's a quiet day for the stable, no runners today. 

The fields for the Cheltenham Festival start to take shape as confirmations for the Tuesday are revealed at noon, supplementary entries will also be made at this stage as the fields get whittled down for the last time before declarations are made on Sunday - so keep an eye out!

Looking into the festival, there will be plenty of points up for grabs in the David Power Jockeys Cup and Harry Skelton believes he is in a strong position to claim the winning prize of £500,000. The competition comes to a close at Aintree in early April and Skelton is currently 42 points ahead of second place Harry Cobden. The Cheltenham Festival will be concluding the majority of the points up for grabs with 24 races being shown on ITV, which is four more than last year. 

Last night in the UEFA Champions League action left the results of Club Brugge 1-3 Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Lille, PSV 1-7 Arsenal and Real Madrid 2-2 Atletico Madrid. The action continues tonight with the first game kicking off at 5:45pm with the later games coming from 8pm.
