Newbury & Southwell

        Pachacuti runs today at Newbury
The jumps cards come from Newbury and Ffos Las today, with the all-weather action coming from Lingfield and an evening card at Southwell. The all-weather action continues over in Ireland at Dundalk. 

We head to Newbury with two runners, Pachacuti starts us off in the 2:13pm Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 4½f with Ben Bromley riding. He has been a little disappointing as of late, but he is a horse that shows plenty at home, he returns hurdling today so fingers crossed he can return to form.

Itseemslikeit completes our day and runs in the 5:05pm Handicap Hurdle over 3miles with Jack Tudor riding. He was also a little disappointing on his last effort but he is another who goes very nicely at home and he is still lightly raced, I think the step up in trip should suit.

We also head to Southwell tonight for Ocean Heights who runs in the 7:15pm Handicap with Taylor Fisher riding. He's in good form at home and comes here on a nice mark, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him run nicely.

Yesterday at Taunton, Missy Mole started our busy day and she did make an improvement and showed great attitude to keep plugging on, I think some better ground and a further trip may be to her liking for the future. Sirekoff made a big step in the right direction to finish fourth and i'm sure it won't be long until he gets his head back in front.

Purple Owl rounded up our day at Taunton and ran in the bumper, I do think he will improve further on a much better surface. At Ludlow, Walkadina made an improvement on the back of her wind op and ran a much more encouraging race. She kept galloping all the way to the line and I think a step up in trip will suit her for the future. 

The Jockey Club have announced a nice touch for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, as it will this year be named after Michael O'Sullivan. It will be a fitting tribute after Michael's greatest moment in his career was winning the 2023 Supreme Hurdle aboard Marine Nationale, which was later followed up with a success in the Fred Winter aboard Jazzy Matty. 

Last night in the Premier League action, West Ham followed up their impressive victory over Arsenal with another win against Leicester, the game finished in 2-0. Tonight there is an FA Cup 5th Round match which is Aston Villa vs. Cardiff City due to kick off at 8pm.
