There has been a great deal of rain fall over night but it hasn't affected the racing action going ahead today so far, so the jumps cards come from Wincanton, Wetherby and Bangor-On-Dee. Kempton brings the all-weather action this evening and it is another quiet day in Ireland, with no racing scheduled.

We head to Wincanton with just one runner, Saccary who runs in the 1:33pm Maiden Hurdle over 1mile 7f with David Noonan on board. Conditions will be very testing and he will need to build on what he has done over hurdles so far.

Yesterday we were at Leicester with River Run Free and conditions did look hard work and they were finishing very tired, he finished fourth and was not beaten by far. Maybe his previous run came a little too soon for him and maybe he'd prefer a more galloping track but there will be plenty of other days for him.

Yesterday, Constitution Hill had an away day at Kempton alongside some other Seven Barrows stars. What was described as a “frightening” performance, as he pulled clear of his companions at a raw and natural pace. He looked a different horse to the one who performed at Kempton so far below expectations a year ago. This now puts the star firmly on track for a back-to-back Champion Hurdle.

It was disappointing news for one of the leading jockeys James Bowen, after receiving a whip ban from his ride last Sunday. The rule means this will run from the Cheltenham week, resulting in the jockey missing out on riding in the festival altogether.

What goes up and down but doesn't move?

Stairs!

Happy Wednesday!
