Jurancon Will Now Run at Chepstow Tomorrow

Yesterday we were back racing and we made the short trip to Exeter with two runners. Pachacuti never looked to be travelling like his usual self and never looked completely happy throughout, he is all-ok this morning and we know he is better than this so it is back to the drawing board.  The ground was pretty horrible, holding and hard work, we thought he wouldn't mind it but perhaps he did!

Chauffeur Driven once again ran okay without every really being involved in the business end of the race.  Held up he travelled and jumped well and was not too far behind the leaders rounding the home turn.  Jack said he galloped all the way to the line and hit the line strongly so looks well worth a try over three miles on a galloping track.

Today we were due to be heading a bit further afield for a busy day with four runners at Plumpton but unfortunately it has been abandoned.  Jurancon was due to run in the 1:10pm Novices’ Hurdle over 2miles 4½f with Jack Tudor in the saddle but instead he now goes to Newbury tomorrow.  We declared him yesterday for Newbury as well in case Plumpton was called off, it is good to have a back up plan!  Newbury itself must pass an inspection on Tuesday afternoon so fingers crossed it will!

Ben Lilly, First Lord De Cuet and Sirekoff were our other intended Plumpton runners.  The only good thing is that Plumpton called it off very early so our lorry hadn't even left the yard and we do appreciate decisions like this.  While the staff were in ready to go, the horses hadn't been loaded and it saves hassle and money.  The staff will just leave work early this afternoon to make up from them getting up extra early this morning!

Both First Lord and Sirekoff have entries at Wincanton on Thursday so we may declare them to run there instead but check back here later in the week to find out!  With Plumpton being abandoned there is now just all-weather flat action to keep us entertained today.  In Britain we have Southwell and Newcastle and in Ireland they race at Dundalk.

There are four Premier League matches, this evening and Manchester City are away to Brentford at 7.30pm while Chelsea are at home to Bournemouth and West Ham are at home to Fulham.  The fourth match kicks off at 8pm and Nottingham Forrest host Liverpool.

I bought an impressionist painting of some flowers, but when I got back home the cat scratched it.

Now I'm trying to sell it as Clawed Monet!

Have a great Tuesday!
