It's certainly a cold one this morning with temperatures reaching around -5 at Pond House! No runners for the stable today and the jumps card comes from Musselburgh, who will need to pass an inspection at 10:15am this morning, due to the cold weather. The all-weather action comes from Lingfield who passed their inspection this morning and Southwell completes the flat cards. There is no action coming from Ireland today.

Yesterday it was announced that JJ Slevin will be taking over from the recently retired Daryl Jacob to be retained rider for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede in Ireland and England. JJ is a regular rider for the team anyway, so it will be a smooth transition I am sure and his Grade 1 strike rate is brilliant.

Looking into the racing for the weekend, Sandown are reasonably positive that their meeting on Saturday will go ahead, but they will still need to get through two sharp frosts and low temperatures during the day. Sandown is the main coverage coming from ITV this weekend and holds some great racing throughout the card. Wincanton are also hopeful they can get through the sharp frost and come out positively the other side for their meeting also planned for Saturday.

In the darts last night, the ever so talented teenager, Luke Littler went to victory against opponent Stephen Bunting by 6-1 with a ruthless display to set up his final against three-time champion Michael Van Gerwen tonight at 7:30pm. Luke Littler was runner-up last year and is bidding to become the youngest winner of the tournament at the age of 17.
