Lock Out runs at Taunton today
We are back racing with three runners at one of our local tracks Taunton today with a jumps card also coming from Warwick. With the flat action coming from Chelmsford and Newcastle on the all-weather this evening. No racing in Ireland today.
Starting us off at Taunton is Tuxedo Junction who runs in the 1:35pm Novices' Hurdle over 2miles 1/2f with Jack Tudor on board. He's been running well on his switch to hurdling and has been unlucky bumping into some nice horses, this race does look competitive but he does look capable of improving further over this code and comes here in good form.
Next up we have Lock Out with Gearoid Harney riding and Chauffeur Driven with Jack Tudor on board who both take their chances in the 3:50pm Handicap Hurdle over 3miles. Lock Out switches back to hurdling today, he won at Chepstow in October and his run after that may have come a little too soon, but he finished a respectable third last time out and looks to be a capable hurdler. Chauffeur Driven ran much better last time out two weeks ago with a step in the right direction over course and distance, he should hopefully improve from that effort and he is in good form at home.
The highlight on Warwick's card is the Mares' Novices' Chase which is due off at 1:55pm and Cheltenham Festival winner You Wear It Well will be looking to go one better than her chasing debut to land the feature. She looks like she will improve from the experience this time out but has 7 worthy opponents. Cherie D'Am runs for the Skelton team and they are certainly a stable that does well at the track. Although the Nigel Twiston-Davies team could be one to watch in this as he's only saddled one runner in this race before which was Zambella who won four years ago and returns today with Smiling Getaway who won her only start over fences at Ffos Las.
How does an octopus go into battle?
Well-armed!
Have a great Thursday!
