Johannes runs today
Day two of the November meeting at Cheltenham continues with jumps cards also coming from Uttoxeter and Wetherby. On the flat there is all-weather action coming from Newcastle and Wolverhampton while in Ireland, there is a jumps card at Navan.
Yesterday at Cheltenham we had American Sniper in the first race on the card, the race didn't quite go as we had planned and he found himself in a clear lead from an early stage which wasn't ideal and I'm sure Gearoid would do things differently next time if he could go back, but he kept galloping all the way to the line.
Today we are at two meetings. Johannes runs at Uttoxeter in the 2:28pm Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 4f with Tom Bellamy riding. He returns after a break and improved on his first step up in trip on handicap debut, when winning at Taunton and he looks to be capable of further improvement and he has won on good ground in France. We then head to Cheltenham with Thanksforthehelp who runs in the 2:55pm Handicap Hurdle over 3miles with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He ran well on his return run from a break and he would have improved on that run and he's in good form at home.
Yesterday at Cheltenham there was plenty of action, Jonbon returned for his first run back of the season in the Shloer Chase and put up an almighty round of jumping to win the race for the second time. This provided the horse with his 15th win from 18 starts, the plan looks for him to now head for the Tingle Creek next month. It was a lovely performance and certainly stopped any doubt for Cheltenham not being his ideal track.
The Cross Country race also provided some heart in the mouth action as the favourite, Tommie Beau took the wrong course after jumping the third last when in front. He looked as if he had the race in his hands, and we will never know what the true result would've been should he have carried on, but unfortunately these things do happen. The eventual winner of the race Sweet David did not have an easy route as he clattered into the side of a rail just after the drama, which then launched it onto the course but still managed to win by a nice six and a half lengths.

Because they taste funny!
Have a great weekend!
