It's a busy day for jumping action with cards coming from Ludlow and Carlisle while on the flat, the meetings are at Nottingham, Southwell and Wolverhampton. In Ireland, the action comes from Clonmel with a jumps card. No runners for the stable today.
Newbury has called an 8am inspection for their card on Friday, as there is rain forecast to hit the track beforehand. The going is currently heavy, soft in places and although the forecast is expected to be dry there is a chance of up to 8mm Friday morning. Newbury have said if they get the lower end of the rain, they will be able to cope with that but if they get the higher end it will become a struggle.
It was a successful Fontwell for Alex Dunn as Instant Gambler produced a four-timer since switching to fences, gaining three of his four wins from Fontwell. Alex has already matched her seasonal tally of 5 jumps winners from last season with 15 from her 46 runners finishing in the placings. She also mentioned she's got less horses this season, but definitely much more quality.
Last night in the football, Manchester City maintained their unbeaten record in this season's Champion League as they won 5-0 against Sparta Prague. Liverpool's strong start also continued with a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig which extended their 100% winning record in the Champions League. Meanwhile in the cricket, Pakistan and England are currently playing in the first day of the Men's International Test Match Series.
