It's looking to be a wet and windy Sunday according to the forecast and with the flat season quietening down, it's the jumps action that dominates today, coming from Sedgefield and Kempton. While in Ireland, they still race over both codes with the flat card coming from Leopardstown and the jumps card at Limerick. The stable have no runners today.
Kempton switches from the flat to the jumps and features a £50,000 Listed Hurdle which takes place at 4pm and there are 8 runners trying to grab the pot. Casa No Mento for the Twiston-Davies yard looks a challenger to the Paul Nicholls trained Rubaud having won his last two outings both confidently. Paul Nicholls has shown his yard is slowly coming to form after striking victory at his local track Wincanton but it looks to be a good race for some Sunday action.
The Durham National is Sedgefield's feature race on the card which is due to take place at 4:20pm and Tommie Beau will be looking to achieve a back-to-back victory in this race after winning last years by a head. He's been such a stand out competitor for the Seamus Mullins team and if he does win, we will certainly be hearing his owner singling loudly back into the winners enclosure!
But before you head to Sedgefield over in Ireland, Limerick are also staging a national feature with the Munster National at 3:50pm which looks to be a competitive one at that with 16 runners taking the line up. Willie Mullins heads there with two representatives in the race, while Gordon Elliott has a strong team of seven in the race who will also be looking to secure back-to-back victories after winning the race last year.
There is Premier League action to watch today as Wolverhampton Wanders vs. Man City at 2pm, with the later game coming from Chelsea vs. Liverpool with kick off at 4:30pm.
Did you hear about the killer whale that learned to play the flute?
He wanted to be in the orca-stra!
Have a lovely Sunday!
