Vision De Maine wins at Uttoxeter!
The British flat season comes to an end today and goes out with the Quipco British Champions Day at Ascot, where we will get to see some of the best horses finish their campaigns on a high. The other flat meetings of the day are coming from Catterick and Wolverhampton. While Newton Abbot's meeting was abandoned earlier this week due to waterlogging Stratford is the only jumps fixture in Britain today. In Ireland, flat action comes from Leopardstown and the jumping comes from Limerick. No runners for the stable today.

Yesterday we took the trip to Uttoxeter with two runners and Vision De Maine became our 20th winner of the season. He jumped and travelled well throughout and took to the fences nicely on his chasing debut. Thanksforthehelp ran well on return and just got a little tired on his first run back after a break and this will put him straight for the rest of the season.

The dry weather on Friday had resulted into quickening ground for Ascot, but with the rain forecast on Saturday morning it will likely remain as soft conditions. 3:55pm is the Qipco Champions Stakes and it will be largest line up since 2015 with a total of 12 runners. Dermot Weld's runner Fascinating Rock was the last Irish-trained winner of the race and Aiden O'Brien bids to end that spell with his two representatives Los Angeles and Continuous. Meanwhile, a big day for Oisin Murphy as he will be crowned champion jockey at Ascot for the fourth time.

Away from racing, the Premier League action continues in the football this afternoon with plenty of matches going on throughout today with the likes of Man-U taking on Brentford at 3pm while Arsenal are up against the likes of AFC Bourneouth at 5:30pm. Last night, Leeds United moved up to second in the Championship with a deserved 2-0 win over rivals Sheffield United.

Did you hear about the guy who was afraid of hurdles?

He got over it!

Have a great weekend!
