Quiet day for the stable yesterday with no runners and we have no runners today, the racing comes from the flat only in Britain today with meetings at Newmarket, Ascot, Redcar, Southwell and Wolverhampton. In Ireland, they race over both codes with jumping action coming from Gowran Park and flat action from the Curragh. There is also plenty of action going on in Paris at Longchamp too with the opening day of the Arc weekend and there is some grade 1 action up for grabs today.
It was also great to see the news that Lauren Keen-Hawkins is making steady progress in her recovery from a serious head injury she suffered in a fall at Worcester last month. She was moved out of intensive care in Birmingham last month and has been transferred to Gloucester to continue her rehabilitation. Her family anticipate she will be home in the near future to continue her rehabilitation at home with help from the NHS and the Injured Jockeys Fund - who are a great service to jockeys within the racing industry.
Last night in the football Sunderland vs. Leeds and an extraordinary error by Leeds goalkeeper handed Championship leaders Sunderland a last-gasp draw at the Stadium of Light finishing 2-2. Today the Premier League continues with plenty of action keeping you busy with the first game kicking off at 12:30pm.
Why do pancakes always win at cricket?
They have the best batter!
