It's getting a little fresher in the mornings now and it's another packed day full of racing as the two jumps meetings are at Hexham and Fontwell. The flat meetings are at Ascot and all-weather action at Newcastle, while in Ireland they race over both codes with jumping action coming from Gowran Park and the flat action from Dundalk on the all-weather. The stable have no runners today.
Yesterday we had three runners for the stable at three different meetings! Skin Full was our first runner of the day at Warwick who returned after a summers break and it was a step in the right direction and he will probably want further in time. Our next runner was Bashful Boy at Southwell who ran another good race to finish fourth, the Henderson trained winner looks to be a nice horse for the future. Kolisi was our last runner of the day at Salisbury and it was great to have him back on the racecourse after a lengthy time off. He would've needed the run and the ground wouldn't have entirely suited him, but this should sharpen him up now for a jumping campaign - he is available on lease for the season so do get in touch if this is something that would interest you or you would like any more information!
Jump jockey Daryl Jacob is back in action today after a lengthy spell on the side-lines after he broke his collarbone and underwent surgery on his shoulder following a fall in late March. He returns today at Gowran Park riding for Joseph O'Brien in the opening race on the card on Mr Percy owned by his retained owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede. Daryl has mentioned this could potentially be his final season in the saddle and mentions there could be plenty to look forward to with a new string of horses. Daryl is a very close family friend of ours so it's great to see him back!
Last night in the football, Harry Maguire rescued a dramatic draw for Man U after they surrendered a two-goal lead against opponents Porto which finished 3-3. The injury time helped massively as they could've been moments away from their fourth loss in 10 games to start the season. Tonight Sunderland and Leeds United kick off at 8pm in the English Football League Championships.
