No runners for the stable today and another day full off flat meetings which are at Ayr, Newbury, Chester, Newmarket and Wolverhampton. In Ireland, there is flat action there also at Gowran Park and Navan.
Chester's meeting today is the final day for Franny Norton in the saddle and he has a full book of rides. Chester racecourse will make special effort to honour the longstanding "King of Roodee" he's set to be given a special memento as well as a personalised weighing room tag. Franny's family and friends will be there also to see him off in style and I'm sure he will be hoping to go out on a winner or two!
Yesterday at Southwell, hundreds of people turned up at Southwell racecourse to watch City Of Troy gallop for his preparations for the Breeders Cup. The Aidan O'Brien team had brought over a group to gallop with City Of Troy and even brought American-like stalls also. He came out of the stalls quick and it was very satisfying to watch him stretch out past his stablemates. Around 1,400 attended who had pre-registered and some had good positions an hour before the horses even arrived.
We made our way up the road to Newton Abbot yesterday with two runners. Astro Babe didn't quite jump the most fluent on a couple of occasions and she looked get into a good rhythm after that but just couldn't quite go with them in the closing stages. Pub Crawl had a much better start this time round and looked to have every chance 2 out, but just didn't quite see out his race like we hoped, but this was a step in the right direction for him.
The Premier League continues with plenty of games on across the afternoon starting with Chelsea vs. West Ham Utd kicking off at 12:30pm and Man Utd vs. Crystal Palace finishing off the day kicking off at 5:30pm.
When does a duck wake up?
At the quack of dawn!
