             Happy Birthday Debbie!

Today there was supposed to be three jumps meetings at Kempton, Fakenham and Carlisle but unfortunately Carlisle has been abandoned.  The stable does not have any runners today. Our conditional jockey Gearoid Harney was due to make the long drive to Carlisle for one ride, Inspiratrice for trainer Nicky Martin in the 1.40pm mares handicap hurdle and is about 5/1 third best in the betting.  He was on his way when the meeting was called off but has already turned around and will be back in the yard to ride out a bit later in the morning.

Jack Tudor goes to Kempton for two rides which includes Kitty’s Light while David Noonan has one ride at Fakenham. The meeting at Fakenham is an additional meeting to the fixture list with a few meetings having been lost due to the weather. Hopefully it will go ahead without incident, you may remember their last meeting had to be abandoned after one race due to safety issues with the ground being slippery. I am sure it will be fine today. There is one flat card at Wolverhampton today while there is no racing in Ireland.

Remastered ran okay at Aintree on Saturday. While we had hoped for better he was not suited by the hurdles being omitted in the home straight due to the low sun and it was a step back in the right direction from where he finished last season. It was a prep run and he will improve for the outing but it would have been nice to see a little bit more. He seems to have come out of the race fine which is the main thing and we now have three weeks to get him spot on for Newbury.

I did not go to Badbury Rings point to point yesterday but the 4 and 5 year old maiden race was won by the Bradley Gibbs trained Riene Des Tartes who beat Chris Barber and Tom and Gina Ellis trained horses. Without even seeing the race I know it will have been competitive and I am sure the winner, if indeed not all the first three horses will be for sale, maybe even at Cheltenham later this week, watch this space!

In the football over the weekend Wolves beat Spurs 2-1 in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off = happy nan!! There was a thrilling match at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon which finished Chelsea 4 Manchester City 4. The home side grabbed a draw through a 95th minute penalty but Man City still head the table on 28 points, one clear of Liverpool and Arsenal with 27. There are no matches this evening.

Exeter Chiefs lost their rugby match away to Northampton Saints yesterday afternoon 34-19.

Storm Debi may batter Ireland and the North of England today but may I take this opportunity to wish our very own Debbie a very happy birthday!  Debbie has worked at Pond House a very long time and is 21 again today

Someone just called my phone, sneezed and then hung up.

I am getting sick and tired of these cold calls! Happy Monday!
