With a mixture of sunshine and showers today we are bracing ourselves for some more wet and windy weather from tomorrow onwards. It is frustrating to loose meetings as races are hard enough to find for some horses and with Bangors card being abandoned there is just on jump meeting today at Chepstow where we have two runners. Favori De Sivola and Itseemslikeit.

Favour De Sivola runs in the 3m2f Handicap Chase, at 1.30pm. He has winning form off a higher mark and having dropped a few pounds and his ideal going conditions today, we hope he can get back to his old ways. He did have wind surgery back in May and some horses take a few runs to get their confidence back having had issues in previous races.

Itseemslikeit was a narrowly beaten third in his only start in an Irish point to point on heavy ground. He is a gorgeous big horse who goes well at home. When you see the size of him and his pedigree, by Black Sam Bellamy, you can only imagine he is destined for staying chases but today’s  2m Bumper is a good starting point. There are three others in the race by the same sire, and out of the fourteen runner field only four have previous race experience in point to points so it will be an education for the majority, and it could be a bit hairy being in the middle of the field going down the hill to the stable bend, but then the hill heading up to the back straight usually settles them into a rhythm.

David’s Stable Tour is on the Racing Post for anyone looking for a good read, we have lots to look forward to for the season ahead.

Why is it so hard trick or treating with twins ? Because you never know which is witch. Happy Halloween
