Bashful Boy bounced right back to his best form to run a cracker in the Cesarewitch yesterday to finish fourth. We needn’t have worried about the going for him. He was given a super ride by the 5lb claimer Aiden Brookes.
Wordsworth didn’t run as well as we had expected. But hopefully he will come out of the race fine and we can look forward to getting him back over hurdles.
At Chepstow, Jilajone ran another solid race to finish second. He pulled hard enough in the early part of the race which probably didn’ t help him in the finishing stages. American Sniper ran well only to weaken in the heavy going two hurdles out. He will look forward to better going. Stray Bullet looked a little excited to be on the racecourse again and was very keen going into the first hurdle where he knuckled on landing. He did well to stay upright. He jumped a few more hurdles for confidence but pulled up and saved for another day on better ground.
We have two runners today at Ffos Las for the David PIpe Racing Club, and there are plenty of members going to cheer on DJango and Jack Tudor in the 3.55pm three mile Handicap Hurdle and Abaya Du Mathan and Gearoid Harney in the 4.30pm. We hope they all have a super day.
It wasn’t to be for Ireland last night in the Rugby World Cup quarterfinal, but it was a brilliant match to watch. England take on Fiji at 4pm this afternoon so that is this evenings plans sorted ! Have a lovely Sunday
