The stable enjoyed a couple of winners at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon and I thought that young Conor produced an absolute gem of a ride to land the seller aboard American Art. He didn't look that keen at times and Conor was after him from a very early stage but still managed to coax him to a short head victory. Teshali completed a quickfire double at the track when getting up under a strong ride from Timmy Murphy to score by 1/2 length - Conor was aboard Briefcase and he gave this one a good ride too...I'm not sure he would have been quite so popular in the yard this morning if he had won!

I thought that Arab League also posted a good debut effort for the yard when just touched off in the novices' hurdle. It was this ex-flat performer's first run over hurdles and he was only beaten by a nose. Perhaps a step up in trip will help - remember he won at distances of upto 2 miles on the flat and he looks well capable of success over timber.

What a match between Manchester United and Chelsea yesterday! I thought that Fernando Torres was having his best game yet for Chelsea...until that miss - it was quite possibly the worst miss of all time in the Premiership. Chelsea had no fewer than nineteen shots at goal but still ended up losing 3-1. It also occured to me that rather than getting hair implants, perhaps Wayne Rooney should invest in some stud implants, that way he would not slip over when taking a penalty! Nonetheless, it was still a very good game.
The Spurs versus Liverpool match was also very exciting (unless of course you are a Liverpool supporter) - the reds had two players sent off during their 4-0 defeat. It turned out to be a good day yesterday (nothing to do with the fact that I backed both winning teams!).

The Chinese fancy dress party that I attended on Saturday went well - the only problem was that I had to go into Wellington in my fancy dress outfit to pick up the meal! I did get some very strange looks, not least from the owner of the Chinese restaurant!
