The stable was among the winners at Warwick yesterday afternoon as Dindin landed the conditional jockeys' handicap chase over 2m4f under Philip Armson.  Held up in rear, he joined issue at the end of the back straight and came away from his rivals to score comfortably in the end.  It will be interesting to see if he is turned out again quickly as he would escape a penalty for this success.  This was a 40th career win for Philip, meaning that his 5lbs claim is now reduced to 3lbs.  He has had a marvellous start to the season, with 20 winners, meaning that half of his career victories have come in the last few months alone!  Al Roc and El Paso Wood both finished fourth on the same card.

Fergus Wilson said, "Whilst it was the first win for Dindin on these shores, he should have won earlier when he had the race at his mercy and was 1/999 in-running when he tipped-up at the last fence at Newton Abbot.  Yesterday, the instructions were ride exactly the same race – but jump cleanly the last fence. Dindin has now won eleven times and Judith Wilson likes to own horses with a minimum of ten wins."

"Dindin is another of those AQPS horses that are not thoroughbreds. In England we used to call them part-breds, or not in the General Stud Book.  He is by the same sire as another of our horses, d’Jango which is Balko. The two are both part-bred Arab horses, the same as another of our horses, El Paso Wood."

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Perth, flat fixtures from Redcar and Goodwood and all-weather action from Kempton and Southwell.  There are no runners from Pond House today, although we will be back at Worcester on Friday, declarations for which close this morning at 10am.

I see that the governing bosses of Formula One have announced a record 24 race calendar for next season.  There have already been numerous complaints about the current schedule, so I am sure it is not going to be well-received by everyone in the sport, although it is great news if you are a fan like me.

I moved into my new home the other day.  It was an igloo.  The trouble is, my friends held a house-warming party for me and now I'm homeless.
