David has three runners at Newton Abbot today with Bathwick Man kicking off our trio in the 4.30pm race.  He ran well on his comeback run at Stratford and finished second but dissapointed at Uttoxeter last time out.  Conor O'Farrell is in the saddle once again and we are hoping he can bounce back to form.  Conor rode a winner at Galway yesterday for former boss John Joseph Hanlon so we are hoping he can continue in the winners today as he rides all of David's runners this afternoon.  Kilshanna runs in the Conditional jockeys handicap chase and Star of Germany runs in the conclucing chase on the card.

There is no jumps race action after today until Worcester at the end of the week but the yard is a hive of activity at the moment.  The majority of horses our now back from there summer break and are doing some roadwork.  Time just seems to fly by and I can't believe it only seems like yesterday we were turning all the horses out to grass and saying enjoy your summer holiday!  It is exciting to however to think that we can start counting down the days until the proper jump action will start in mid October.  Mind you there is still some great flat action and even some good jumps action to enjoy before then.  There is of course the Newton Abbot two day Summer Festival at the end of August which is always a great couple of days to look forward to. They stage a very valuable chase and hurdle race and David has quite a good strike rate in these races.  Raslan has won the hurdle race for the last two years and Star of Germany won the chase back in 2009.

I must just say a quick mention and also send my best wishes to Ryan Moore.  There was a horrible incident at Goodwood on saturday when his horse was brought down by the sadly fatally injured Captain John Nixon who in turn town brought down Jamie Spencer's mount.  Thankfully Jamie walked away but Ryan suffered more serious injuries with a suspected broken humerous and thumb.  I thought the media did very well to cut out the incident on replays of the race as these happening are thankfully pretty scarce but we do not to see them replayed over and over so I thought a good job was done by Channel 4 & RUK.  I would like to wish Ryan a speedy recovery, its such a shame his Champion jockey tittle challenge has once again been ended by injury but lets just remember he is only 27 so I am sure he will be winning that title a few more times in the years to come!
