Following his electrifying success on the Goodwood Downs on Wednesday I see that early estimates of Frankel's stud value are already in the region of £30 million!  These reports may be (excuse the pun) a little premature as there is every chance that Henry Cecil's star three year old will stay in training next season.  The really scary thought is that his trainer reckons that he will be even better as a four year old, in which case I can't see too many people lining up to take him on - another haul of Group One's next year and his value could sky-rocket.

Talking of incredible performances, I see that Dermot Weld recorded an amazing four-timer at Galway yesterday, taking his total for the week to a record equalling eleven (and there are still three days of the Festival remaining!).  Our only runner at the meeting, Street Entertainer finished in mid-division in the Galway Hurdle under Conor O'Farrell.  Galway is a funny track and is always on the turn and he may well appreciate being returned to a more galloping track in future.

Teshali put in a pleasing first effort for the yard when finishing runner-up at Stratford under Timmy Murphy yesterday afternoon.  He stayed on well in the straight to finish behind the well-treated favourite and there look to be races to be won with him in the coming months.

She may no longer be the greatest miler in training (ratings-wise at least), but you cannot deny her sheer brilliance in winning thirteen Group One races - I am of course talking about Goldikova.  Freddie Head's wonder mare is bidding to win an incredible fourth Prix Rothschild at Deauville on Sunday - we truly are spoilt with the top quality horses in training at present.
