There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Brighton and Leicester, an all-weather flat fixture from Kempton and a jumps meeting from Huntingdon.  The best of the action today comes from Leicester with a competitive 1m2f (0-95) handicap the highlight.  After plenty of overnight rain, the ground at Leicester is now heavy - the ground there can get extremely testing so it is vital that your selection will handle conditions.  At the prices, Pied Piper could prove a bit of each-way value.  The Queen's gelding stays well and will handle the ground and should be thereabouts.  I thought we may have been in luck with yesterday's selection at Lingfield, but he was just headed close home...onward and upwards!

It would seem that Pond House managed to avoid the worst of the weather yesterday.  Despite heavy rain in Taunton overnight, I was surprised to learn that we had only had 12mm of rain at the yard.  With Exeter and Chepstow both having roughly double that overnight, it seems that Pond House managed to get away with it lightly.

David doesn't have any runners this afternoon, but we are back tomorrow at Ludlow so check back in then to get the latest news.

For those of you who read David's weekly blog yesterday, you may well have seen that it was his turn to pick a horse to follow for the season ahead.  Broadcaster, Mike Vince caught up with the boss ahead of Chepstow's big opening meeting at the weekend and spoke with him about his hopes for the season ahead.  You can view it by clicking on the image below...

The hype is building around the third fight in the Tyson Fury versus Deontay Wilder trilogy that takes place this weekend in Las Vegas.  Fury had hoped to face Anthony Joshua to unify all of the heavyweight belts but was forced to face Wilder again due to a contractual clause.  The Joshua fight is looking a long way off now with him subsequently getting well beaten by Ukranian Oleksandr Usyk last month.

The pair drew their first fight in controversial circumstances with many feeling that Fury had done enough to win.  He put matters right when dominating their next fight in 2020 and is a strong favourite to maintain his unbeaten record this weekend, despite claiming that his opponent should not be written off.  I guess they have to attract an audience, right?

A man walks into a library, approaches the librarian and says, “I’ll have a cheeseburger and fries, please.”

The librarian says, “Sir, you know you’re in a library, right?”

“Sorry,” he whispers. “I’ll have a cheeseburger and fries, please.”
