Beyond a Winner at Sandown

It was great for David to have a winner on the flat yesterday at Sandown with Beyond who was making his Pond House debut.  He was having his first run on the turf having previously being twice a winner on the all-weather for Jeremy Noseda.  He was also twice a winner over hurdles last season and he is a lovely four year old who I am sure will win many more races both over obstacles and on the flat.  He was always in a prominent position in the race under Robert Havlin and came up the Sandown hill well to win nicely under a great ride.

This was David's first success on the level this year although we have not had many runners in this sphere and it continued the good form of the yard at the following Bold Perk's successes at Perth earlier in the week.  As mentioned yesterday Bold Perk returned home from Scotland to in fine form and is now enjoying a mini holiday before deciding where to go next.  He is pictured below in the winners enclosure with owner Eddie Rice and jockey Conor O'Farrell.

There is not much jumping action this weekend with the only card being at Market Rasen tomorrow.  David does not have any runners so has time to draw breath after a hectic week which included a successful trip to the French sales at Saint Cloud.  Racing action returns to Pond House on Monday where we have entries at Newton Abbot, on Tuesday jumps action is from Uttoxeter and on Wednesday it is at Worcester so there is lots to look forward to.  Also coming up next week is the July Sales at Newmarket where David will once again be in attendance looking for some new stable stars that have been running on the flat and have the potential to make nice hurdles/chasers.  Recent buys from this sale have included stable favourite Raslan who has won six hurdle races since joining our team, including some very valuable races and given his owners much fun.  If anyone is interested in perhaps buying a horse from this sale please do not hesitate to contact us on 01884 840715 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. It is a lovely sunny day at Pond House this morning and I am going to be out with my camera to take some photos of the hroses on the gallops so check back here over the coming days to see some of our horses being put through their paces.
