There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Wetherby supported by all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Newcastle. David has one runner this afternoon; Little Red Lion who contests the staying handicap chase at Wetherby at 3.10pm. Our seven year old has won both of his completed starts over fences and is a lightly-raced and progressive gelding. He was a slightly fortunate winner last time, although he was unlucky to be brought down on his chase debut - luck does have a habit of evening itself out. He is 3lbs higher today which makes this competitive contest tougher but he should be right there once again for the David Pipe Racing Club. Wining jockey Fergus Gillard is in the saddle and takes a handy 5lbs off his back.
We were out of luck at Doncaster yesterday afternoon with Airton and Buster Edwards both finishing midfield in their respective races. Whilst the ground was a little better than we have been seeing lately, it did seem a bit tacky and they may be suited by a better surface.

West Ham progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup last night courtesy of their victory over non-league Stockport County, although it was far from plain sailing with the visitors only grabbing the lead 8 minutes from time. In other Cup news, it emerged that Liverpool will face Manchester United in what is surely the pick of the fourth round matches. There are three Premier League matches taking place tonight.
Shaun Murphy beat Mark Williams to progress to the quarter-final stages of the Masters snooker yesterday, whilst defending champion Stuart Bingham beat Un-Nooh. Neil Robertson takes on Yan Bingtao this afternoon before Mark Selby plays Stephen Maguire this evening.

I went to a bar the other day and ordered a double from the bartender. He brought out a bloke who looked just like me!
