There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Carlisle and Southwell and an all-weather flat fixture from Lingfield.  David has one runner today as Do Ya Feel Lucky makes her debut for the stable in the 2m4½f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Southwell at 2.30pm.  A winner over hurdles in Ireland, she produced her best performance last time over fences when an excellent second to Anything Will Do, form which reads well in this context. She is down in trip today, although she should be able to handle it and looks to have solid prospects in the hands of Fergus Gillard who takes 3lbs off her back.

Adagio produced a very good performance to land the Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham yesterday afternoon.  He jumped well and could do no more than beat his rivals comprehensively under a confident ride from Tom Scudamore.  He remains an exciting juvenile hurdler.

There are plenty of sports on that appeal to me (although not so much my wife).  As well as the final F1 race of a strange season at Abu Dhabi, there is the final of the Scottish Open snooker taking place this afternoon and of course the American Football.  My beloved Vikings face a tough task as they take on the greatest quarterback of all time (Tom Brady) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I may just have a little acca on Kansas City, Houston, Carolina, New Orleans and Green Bay, even if I very much resent the last pick!
