There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps fixtures from Exeter and Uttoxeter as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton.  David has two runners at each jumps card; Gabrielle du Seuil and Duc de Beauchene at Uttoxeter and Rathlin Rose and Flou Artsistique at Exeter.  Gabrielle du Seuil makes her debut for the stable in the mares' novices hurdle at 1.18pm.  She showed ability in two starts over hurdles in France, finishing fourth on both occasions and that would give her a chance, although she is entitled to improve after an absence of 568 days.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

Duc de Beauchene (pictured above) is our other runner at Uttoxeter when he contests the stayers' handicap hurdle at 2.28pm.  A winner last November at Cheltenham, he remains 9lbs above that winning mark.  He is still lightly raced and untried at this trip so there may be further improvement in him.  Underfoot conditions should suit and he would look to have a good chance under Tom Scudamore.

Over at Exeter, Rathlin Rose runs in the 1.33pm, a 3m handicap chase.  He is 2lbs lower than his last winning mark at Ascot last year and he has traditionally fared better with a run under his belt.  This is a competitive contest with some in-form rivals but Fergus Gillard claims 7lbs off Rathlin's back and he could outrun his odds.

Flou Artsistique is our final runner as he contests the 3.53pm race.  He has been disappointing thus far and would need to improve to figure.  This represents a step-up in trip and hopefully that will help.  David Noonan is in the saddle.

There are four Premier League football matches tonight but the standout is definitely leaders Leicester against reigning champions Liverpool.  Liverpool have an excellent record against Leicester in recent seasons so we will see if that is maintained tonight.  The action gets underway at 7.15pm.

I rocked up to work at 9.00am yesterday morning.  My boss said, "You should have been here at 7.30am!"  I said, "Why?  What happened at 7.30am!"
